Through groundbreaking results showing that the axioms of arithmetic, rational and real analysis, and set theory are derivable in higher-order modal logic from the principle that there could have been any finite number of things, and a defense of the underlying philosophical presuppositions, upper aims to finally consummate the logicist project via a novel synthesis between mathematics, logic and modal metaphysics.

Applicants should have a strong background in philosophy of mathematics, philosophical logic, formal metaphysics, or in other areas of philosophy enabling them to do high-quality research related to the project's topics and the postdoc roles within it.
